The CSUB Department of Physics Completes Installation of New Weather Station.
Physics has finished the installation of a new Campbell Scientific weather station. It is located in the Environmental Studies Area at FACT. The station will provide weather data and information to the new weather class being taught by the Physics Department. For more info on the weather station please check out the CSUB Weather website.

Physics Professor Receives Faculty Research Award
Congratulations to Dr.Vladimir Gasparyan. The Academic Senate voted to nominate him as the Faculty Research Award winner for 2004/05. His continued record of publications in prestigious journals, such as The Physical Review, and his selection as Visiting Scholar at the Institute of Theoretical Physics at the University of California, Santa Barbara are just a few of the contributions Dr. Gasparyan is making in the world of Physics. The award is very much deserved.

Photo taken by Dr. Jeff Lewis on Nov. 18th using a digital camera and a 12 1/2" Meade Reflecting Telescope, CSUB Observatory	Astronomy Students Spend An Evening Under The Stars At The CSUB Observatory. November 18, 2002 was the date for the annual Leonid Meteor shower. Students from the Physics 110 Astronomy class arrived at the observatory with hopes of catching a glimpse of a meteor or two. Unfortunately no meteors were spotted (peak viewing hour for the shower was at 2:30 am on November 19th). Students did however get the opportunity to view Saturn and the Moon.
