About this stuff:

Originally I had in mind to write some short notes explaining some of the more difficult concepts in more detail than given in lecture or in the textbook. In those few places where additional explanation was needed, I could give some new examples, new analogies, and maybe comment on new discoveries. But it grew out of control. I found myself commenting on every section, often my notes would be longer than the original sections in the text. Hopefully this is a good thing, students looking for additional explanations or descriptions will find what they are looking for.

This material is meant to supplement the text and lectures. It can be used for reviewing entire chapters or for additional explanations of selected topics. The material is organized to follow the class textbook section by section. All references to page numbers and textbook figures refer to our class textbook:
