NEW COURSE! - Advanced Internet Application Development
WINTER 2008

CMPS 277: Advanced Internet Application Development
(5 Units, CRN#13574)

This course deals with interactive web development topics. Which includes: Internet application design patterns, web development techniques for creating interactive web applications (e.g. AJAX), server-side scripting (e.g. PHP), client-side scripting (Javascript), and using a database management system (e.g. MySQL) to record/retrieve user information. Students are required to complete a project as part of a small software engineering team or on their own. Prerequisites: CMPS 211 (or knowledge of HTML, CSS and Javascript) and CMPS 221.

This course will count towards elective credit, if you are on the Computer Information Systems(software) Track.

How to get a degree evaluation
1. Logon to Banner Web
2. Click on "Registration and Student Services".
3. Click on "Student Records".
4. Click on "Degree Evaluation".
5. Select the current term and click on "Submit".
6. At the bottom of the screen, click on "What-if Analysis".
7. Select the current term and click on "Continue".
8. Select your program and click on "Continue"
9. Select your campus and first major and click on "Submit".
10. Select the current term and click on "Generate Request".
11. Select "General Requirements" and "Printer-friendly Version" and click on "Submit".

Catalog Update!
CMPS 371 "Graphics" is no longer required in the Computer Science track. This change is in effect immediately. If you have already taken Graphics, you may use this course as an elective in the Computer Science track. The number of units has thus been reduced by 5.
