California State University, Bakersfield has been awarded a grant by the National Science Foundation to fund 40 scholarships to full-time students majoring in Computer Science, Mathematics, and Engineering. The awards are for $3,125 and can be renewed for a second year.

General Eligibility Requirements:

• Must be a US citizen, permanent resident, national, or alien admitted as refugee.
• Must be eligible for federal financial aid (FAFSA).
• Full-time enrollment of at least 36 quarter units per year while majoring in Computer Science, Mathematics or Pre-Engineering.

• Must have a GPA of 2.5 or better on all college level work.
• Must have completed introductory classes in programming— commonly denoted as Computer Science 1 and Computer Science 2 (at CSUB these are CMPS 221 and CMPS 222 ).

• Must have a GPA of 2.5 or better on all college level work.
• Must have completed one year of college level calculus (at CSUB these are Math 201-203).

• For high school admittees: GPA of 3.0 or better.
• For community college transfers: GPA of 2.5 or better.
• For CSUB change of major: GPA of 2.5 or better.

New and Transferring Students:

• Apply for admission to Cal State Bakersfield.*

• Complete the CSUB Academic Scholarship Application.*
• Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).*
• Complete attached form.
