CONSTITUTION OF Media & Technology Club
Article I
Name of Organization
Section 1:
The name of this organization shall be "Media & Technology Club."
Article II
Purpose of the Organization
Section 1:
The Media & Technology Club will facilitate teaching and learning for its members and attempt to improve and augment the opportunities at CSUB in computer science.

Article III
Membership
Section 1:
Any member of the faculty, staff, or student body is eligible for membership.
Section 2:
To become a member, a person should declare their desire to an officer of the club, and preferably attend a meeting of the club.

Section 3:
No discrimination on the basis of race, religion, natural origin,or sex will exist within the organization.

Article IV
Officers

Section 1:
Officers of the Media & Technology Club will be as follows:
President,Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Public Relations Officer.

Section 2:
An election for officers will be held at a scheduled meeting approximately two weeks before the end of Spring Term. A majority vote of members present at that meeting shall decide the officers for the following year.

Section 3:
Term of office is one year, starting at the end of Spring Term, and ending at the end of the following Spring Term.

Section 4:
If an officer leaves her position, an election will be held to replace her.

Section 5A:
President- shall act as the club representative to CSUB and others, shall run meetings, and will in general, be in charge of "external affairs" of the Media & Technology Club.
Section 5B:
Vice President- shall facilitate and be in charge of social events, and "internal affairs" of the Media & Technology Club.
Section 5C:
Secretary- shall record minutes of club meetings, oversee correspondence, and be in charge of producing any club newsletters.
Section 5D:
Treasurer- shall maintain thorough and accurate accounts of club funds, income, and expenditures.
Section 5E:
Public Relations Officer- shall be in charge of promoting the club and its events. In addition, the Public Relations Officer will be familiar with all CSUB and club procedural rules, and ensure that The club operates effectively within the system.
Section 6:
A person may hold only one office in the Media & Technology
Club at any given time.
Section 7:
A petition signed by at least 10% of club members may initiate removal of any of the officers. After at least one week's notice, and with the approval of the club's advisor, a special recall vote will occur. Proxy voting will be allowed. A 2/3 majority of a minimum of ten respondents will be sufficient to remove an officer. Following recall, a normal election will replace the officer.
Article V
Executive Committee (Governing Board)
Section 1:
The executive Committee shall consist of the elected officers and the advisor. (Chairpersons of standing committees may be added.)
Section 2:
A simple majority vote of the Executive Committee, with the approval of the advisor, shall be necessary to pass any business which is referred to the Executive Committee.
Article VI
Meetings
Section 1:
Regular meetings shall be held on a reasonable and somewhat regular basis, as determined by the club President.
Section 2:
A special meeting can be called by any two officers, on behalf of themselves or other club members.
Section 2A:
Notice for a special meeting must be publicized as best as possible (e.g.: with posted notices and use of electronic mail, etc.).
Article VII
Quorum
Section 1:
A minimum of three officers must be present at a meeting in order to have a quorum and conduct business.
Article VIII
How to Amend the Constitution
Section 1:
A proposed amendment to the Constitution shall be stated at least two weeks before a vote.
Section 2:
A 2/3 majority of at least 10 votes will be required to amend the Constitution.
Article IX
Enacting Clause
Section 1:
This Constitution shall become effective upon approval of the Director of Student Activities.
