"Dead Man Walking: Reflections on the Value of Life"

On Tuesday, April 18, 2006 Sister Helen gave the 20th Anniversary Charles
W. Kegley Memorial Lecture. Addressing an overflow crowd in
the CSUB Doré Theatre, Sister Helen gave a powerful indictment of the
United States' approach to capital punishment. She also discussed the
ethics of the government's response to Katrina, along with other national
and international matters.
CSUB President Horace Mitchell welcomes the audience and Sister Helen.
The President also took this opportunity to announce significantly increased
University support for the Institute.
Christopher Meyers, Institute Director, introduces Sister Helen and
thanks the President for his generosity.
