Funky aluminium

An interesting fact about aluminium that I have come across is that it was not until 1825 that chemist, Hans Christian Oersted found a way to extract aluminum fom its ores. By 1884 the price of production had dropped to five dollars a pound and it was capable as serving as the cap for the washington monument. The best ore for aluminum is Bauxite because its properties allow it to be easily dissolved in the Hall-Heroult process that was created in 1886 and is still used today.
