"Yeah... Just tired haha.."
She gives a reassuring look. "Oh, yeah I didn't get much sleep either. It'll be okay though, you can sleep on the ride over!" You feel comforted by her tone, but continue to feel uneasy as you don't recognize this person fully. The driver, whom you know is named Jason, says to you before hopping in. "You were the last to pickup so you get to sit in the middle seat, aren't you excited!?" You awkwardly giggle and reply, "yeah.." You count only 3 people and wonder why someone has to sit in the middle. You go to open the back door of the car and see that luggage is packed in the back seat where you thought you would be sitting. You sigh but accept it and hop into the car from the other side. After stopping by a fast food restaurant for breakfast you are all on your way to your destination: Big Bear Lake.
Arrival: 3:00 PM
You arrive to the cabin just as you're allowed to get in. The owners had it cleaned in the morning and requested that you all stay out until this time. Once parked, everyone hurredly gets out of the car and stretches. During the car ride you realized that the person in the back with you was your friend Andrew. He seems to be the funny guy of the trio. You all begin walking to the cabin, eager to see the inside for the first time in person. The woman, whos name you found is Kylee, is the first to the door. She opens the door and swings it wide open. You are the last to get out of the car. As you walk towards the entrance, you notice a strange symbol carved into a wooden support post on the front porch.
You feel uneasy after seeing this carving. It fills you with dread at the thought of something more sinister being present. None of your friends notice the marking however. They walk by without even a glance. You wonder if you should tell them what you have seen but are unsure. Will they cancel the trip? Will they even care? What do you do?
