Long time friend Pike has been there for Grog since he was kicked out of his herd as a youngin. She brings out the best in him as she does everyone else in the group. With her aid, Grog has become a softer gentler person and has started reading and writing where before he could not even attempt.
After joining the Vox Machina gang, Grog grew close to Scanlan. Admittedly Scanlan wasn't the best of influences on Grog's childlike mind. However, Scanlan did as Scanlan does best and kept Grog in happy spirits whenever the pair joined together.
After a while, both Scanlan and Pike left the party one to go rebuild temples and whole cities; the other to find himself again, leaving poor ole Grog on his own. During this dark time in Grog's life, Vax stepped in and tried to be the light jovial heart that Grog's dearfriends brought to his life. Vax really stepped up to the plate playing card games, board games, and even inventing a new one for Grog to play together.
