Erica McKenna Project 3 Proposal: 1. The name of my website will be Equestrian Supply Company. 2. The purpose of my website will be to mock an online store, where users can shop and "buy" items that they want or need. 3. My target audience will be people who own horses and are involed in the equestrian world. The audience is not targeted to a specific age, just to anyone who wants or needs horse supplies. 4. I hope to create around 6 to 7 pages within my website. Each page will serve a different purpose to display different supplies or items that the user would like to search for that they can purchase. 5. The types of features I want to put within my website will be items for my online store that will come with names of the items along with prices as well. I want to implement a shopping cart and a checkout to seem as if the user is "buying" those items. 6. Visitors will be able to search throughout the webpages for all items that are equestrian related. They will be able to click on items to see details and pricing. The visitor will be able to select any item(s) they want to put into their shopping cart and then proceed to checkout when they have chosen all of the items that they want. 7. The layout of my website will be like most online stores. I want to have a homepage showcasing the company. Then put a navigation bar either on the side or top of the screen where the user can go between pages of the website. Each of the different pages aside from the homepage, will have similar themes, given that they are all serving a similar purpose. Shopping cart and checkout will be different than the other pages. 8. The colors of my website will probably be red, brown, and white. Hopefully staying somewhere in those color genres. 9. I will use a navigation bar either on the top or bottom of the page, most likely the side. I would like to have items in the navigation bar with dropdown items for each of the intitial items. 10. Yes, there are websites that already exist and a few of them are: www.southtexastack.com, www.sstack.com, and www.statelinetack.com. Mine will be different in the sense that the items that are available on these websites, will not be exactly the same as the items available on mine. My website will probably not have as many categories of supplies available that these other websites do. 11. One thing I would like to incorporate is the style of these website's navigation bars. I like that they have the main categories of items and drop down subcategories within them. I also like the bright eyecatching image on the homepage of www.southtexastack.com, hopefully I can incorporate something similar. 12. I hope that my website that mocks an online store will make someone actually want to buy something, even though they actually won't be able to lol!
