For the final project I will be creating a makeup blog. The domain will be named toninikolebeauty.com and the purpose of the website is to help out those who use beauty products by giving them honest reviews on the newest beauty products that are being released. In addition, the website will contain information regarding facial care and makeup. The website will include consistent front end and back end features. Front end features will consist of responsiveness, social media integration, navigation bar, and a neutral color theme. Back end features will consist of user login, subscribing, and commenting on posts. The main goal is to get visitors to join the community of the blog by creating a login and subscribing. Once a visitor becomes a user the goal is to make the blog an information tool for the user. When the user is trying to decide whether they want to try a new product or not then I want the blog to be their go to. The website will contain at least 5 main pages and all of them will have a similar layout. The main pages will be home, new in beauty, search by brand, reviews, and contact. The home page will include the newest posts on the blog, a short bio of the blogger, and a section of top picks from the blogger. The new in beauty page will include links to posts of beauty products that have just been released. The search by brand page will include the brand names of all products that have been reviewed by the blogger. The reviews page will include only reviews on products. Last but not least the contact page will contain information on how to get ahold of the blogger. More pages will be added to the website, but they will only contain information about each post. For the layout of the website, 2/3 of the page is reserved for the main content of that page and the other 1/3 is reserved for additional content to sidetrack the visitor/user. The navigation bar will be horizontal for all pages and then for smaller screens the navigation will dropdown vertically with the click of a button. For the back end of the website like the database, there will be one to two tables. One table will contain the information about subscribers and users. The second table may have to be created to store the comments on posts but I am not sure yet. Other websites like www.elle.com, stylecaster.com, beautyblog.us have similarities and differences to the blog I will be developing. Some similarities are the implementation of subscribing and discussion about new beauty products. Some differences are they discuss about other content than just facial care and makeup. If the blogger of this website wants to discuss other content then she can but the webpage will be more unique by not covering unrelated topics like these other bloggers are doing. They also have a similar layout as each other, where as my webpage layout is much different than theirs. The webpage I am building will have a unique but clean layout and theme. The community for my webpage will reach out specifically to people who have an interest in facial care and makeup products.
