Raul Velasco

I’m Raul Velasco, a recent graduate with a Bachelor’s in Computer Science Information Systems from California State University, Bakersfield. Throughout my academic journey, I gained hands-on experience in web development, system administration, and IT troubleshooting. I'm proficient in programming languages like C++, Python, JavaScript, and CSS, and I’ve developed web applications such as 'Gistory,' a historical timeline and map tool, as well as contributed to 'Project Food,' a culinary database project that showcases my teamwork and technical skills. I’ve also worked at Amazon as a Warehouse Associate, where I honed my organizational and customer service skills, and at Service Corporation International, assisting clients and managing inquiries. Being bilingual in English and Spanish allows me to connect with a diverse range of people, and I’m eager to apply my technical and interpersonal abilities in my future endeavors

Gistory Project

Our senior project, developed over the course of a year with three team members, resulted in the creation of an innovative website that allows users to map their personal or historical events. The platform enables users to save points on an interactive map and enrich these points with detailed content such as images, text, and even YouTube videos, providing a dynamic and engaging experience. This project showcases both our technical skills and our ability to create a user-friendly tool with versatile applications.
