Sarah Harmon - Final Project Proposal:

For my final project, I will create an online shop. The title will be Kat's Department Store, and it will sell different household goods. The purpose of my website is to create a shopping environment that is easy to navigate for any customer. The homepage of my website will have a general description of the store, store hours, a navbar for deprtment navigation, as well as store contact information. I want visitors to be able to traverse different products on the site, choose their preferred items, and make purchases with ease. I anticipate around 10 pages need to be made for the site: home, contact, at least 4 departments with items listed, and I hope to make some sort of shopping cart element that allows visitors to collect their favorite elements into one space.
My proposal for an e-commerce website is something that already exists. In the modern age, it is an important element in growing and maintaining a business. I will do my best to take inspiration from other e-commerce sites, such as Target, Best Buy, Walmart, etc. When taking inspiration, I will mainly focus on how these other sites organize their store, and how they format their product listings.
