Her story

Ado was born in Tokyo on October 24, 2002; at seventeen years old she was an introverted high school student who got made fun of because of her introverted nature. On the eve of her eighteenth birthday, she released a song that would change her life forever, "Usseewa". Ado had been using music as an escape from her own self-loathing and from the constant bullying she experienced. She dabbled in uploading song covers onto YouTube, but her main platform at the time was called Nico Nico. There she would be inspired by other "Utatite" artists, singers on Nico Nico who wouldn't show their face, and upload her own covers of songs. She uploaded her first cover in 2017. During this time, she used her closet as a recording booth to record her covers since she didn"t have the money to rent a recording studio or expensive equipment. In 2020 she would sign to a talent agency, and later that same year she would sign to Universal Music Group where she would release her debut song "Ussewa" which quickly climbed the Japanese charts gaining millions of streams. Thanks to this success she would release her first album Kyogen in 2022, and later she would feature in the film One Piece: Film Red as the singing voice of the antagonist, Uta, which exposed her to a worldwide audience in 2022.
