THese shirts are just some of my overall sewing output. Once you get the hang of what and how to do, you can speed up and really get busy. It is all up to you. that is what I love about sewing. You will too if you put in the time, and you are paitient. That is all that it takes; time and patience. You will also learn humility.
I made these shirts. Many of the fabrics were free or near free. "You" can sew this shirt in under 2 hours. Wearing your handmade clothing is "Fun."
As the title suggest, this secret site is about successful sewing and garment and accesory manufacture. As a Seamster of over 35 years, I have learned a thing or three about sewing. It was truly the most beneficial skill I learned throuthout my entire life.
If people really understood how fast and easy sewing really is, they would spend their money on fabrics and start designing their own original-style hipster or conservative-type clothes. My plan is to show you what I have accomplished. I consider myself a mirror. What you see me doing you can do also and even better because on my of my projects I cheat on Total Perfection.
These shirts are beautiful and one of a kind. They are some of my personal shirts but are not for sale. However, you can make one including the snap enclosures in under 2 hours for just the price of the fabric, and I can help teach you. I could possibly make one for you, but you would have to get in line, and I am already 235 years behind on my work.
Even though my sewing skills are not perfect, they are satisfactory, but most important is that I make my clothing first for durability, then for ease of fit, and finally for style. Hopefully, I will be able to help you find your creative power in inner drive that you will develop in mastering your sewing skills.
Sewing requires you to make a mess. To be super effective you must clean up as you go and leave it cleaner than you found it. Having your bobbins wound with different colors is essential to rapid sewing. Your machine must be out and ready to sew at all times. Also, just asw an aside, I made the pottery pictured as well as the shelf. Construction is the technique used to create things. tools are also needed to construct things.
Spend your coins on tools and materials so you can make what you want and need. Materials are the raw goods that are purchased cheap. The profits, which can be extremely substantial compaired to the initial outlay, are in turning the raw materials into the finished produducts. that is how you do the magic.
Do not become impatient. When I first learned, I had to blaze the trail, flying by the seat of my pants. I became consumed and compeled with the visceral need to sew. Not to just make things or be busy, that too, but to create. I only knew that I needed to sew. It was like water for the thirsty and comfort ofor ot Back then I would sew 6 to 10 hours every dday. Even now some days I sew all day for 10 to even 14 hours. Sewing can really become addicting, especially when you're producing beauriful original garments, accessories and other paraphernalia.
Juki 6 Thread Overlock
Overlock machines are especially important in saving time and having a professional looking finish. Although it is possible to make the entire garment with the single needle, ir is nether cost nor time efficient. Any serious sewer would have an overlock. It is especially useful for knit fabrics because you can make the entire tshirt and leggins including the elastic wasteband all on the overlock.You will only use the single needle for hemming the garment.
Hopefully, as this site propagates, there will be some little nuggets that you'll be able to incorporate, not only into you sewing techniques, but that will help to give your life a different thought, or a contrasting opinion. True sewing, in addition to the monetary/material rewards will help with focus, memory, balance, and paitence. You can acheive that and much, much more. Plus, when your styling your own threads, you confidence level rises a notch.
